He Huan Shan (合歡山, He Huan Mountain), located at the border of
Nantou and Hualien Country, is one of the places you must visit in Taiwan.
Breathtaking view and fresh air, at an altitude of 3,000m above sea level.
He Huan Shan provides a nice break from the unbearable summer heat.
High-mountain cabbage, tea, pear and apple are “must taste” products of this area.
*Stunning view of a cabbage farm
Starting from Kaohsiung, cruising into the mountains,
and heading to Hualien is the classic route we normally take.
It is about 50km from downtown Puli to He Huan Shan (highway #14),
so if you plan to take some time for exploration, we recommend you to
make an overnight stop at Puli, and start your journey next morning.
The highest road pass in Japan is Mt. Fuji Skyline (2,380m), but in Taiwan,
you can climb up to about 1,000m higher than that…amazing!!
If you have a chance to ride/drive around Taiwan, we highly recommend you to visit there.
